| I signed up with StartLogic mainly because I needed cheap hosting, being a fairly new freelance business on a small budget. I had no idea that I would get so much for the price. I have more disc space and bandwidth than I could ever use, unlimited email accounts, an extremely easy control panel that gives me a great list of options including a whole array of plug-ins like chat rooms, guestbooks, and a phpBB message board. Template sites and logos are also available along with many other features that I would probably never need but it is comforting to know that they are there regardless and at such a low price. I (overall impression 9.8/10) We have included Startlogic in our listings of the best web hosts based on the actual user experience and testimonials for the most outstanding customer support available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They let you take advantage of the fastest technical assistance via email or online chat as well as correspondence option allowing you to send those not-so-important questions to be answered as well by their experts. (overall impression 9.6/10) My page has 15k and it takes 5 seconds to load. Tested it on my other server and takes 1sec. To ftp is hell. And we're talking about a virtual private server. CPU - 99% all of the time. Never goes lower. My footer now says: " If you want your website to go this low chose Startlogic" - it will always have this line. Support: There's no support, you're talking with robots giving you the same reply, "post a ticket" and the waiting is very long. (overall impression 5.4/10) Their support is extremely poor. I opened a support ticket (Priority: Emergency) for 3 days and still no one attend to it. I spoke with Live Help twices and the person keep telling me. I have forwarded your issue and it will be resolved soon. (overall impression 4.4/10) When I went to add an extra domain everything went as told and worked like expected except that no images would show on my page for the extra domain unless I linked them through the main domain on the account. When I submitted a ticket for the problem I was told they didn't support multiple domains on the type of account I had. Eventually they did fix it however. I did later confirm that they didn't support multiple domains. Other than that as of today Techbarn.net is that extra domain on the account and I have to say that my wife likes Startlogic because their panel is a little easier for her to understand as opposed to something like cpanel which can sometimes be overcrowded and confusing to some if its not styled just perfect. (overall impression 6.4/10) I have had sl for over a year and my site crashed. To reload from the server they charge for and so far it has been 4 days and still no site. Support has hung up on me when I call to find out why the delay. After 4 days of trying to get them to reload my site. No help. I would not use them and am currently looking to move. They dont even respond when you submit a ticket and have no contact them area on their site. (overall impression 3.8/10) Like many of the reviews, I've had lengthy waits both waiting on the phone and for technical support through e-mail. My original site took several weeks to get up because the wrong account info was given to me multiple times, and my site was down for 3 weeks after they screwed up the site registration renewal 1 year after signup. Other than that, their software is easy to use, and my sites been up for all but an hour otherwise (overall impression 4/10) Good affordable hosting. Lots of site space, and high bandwidth, Very little problems. If there was a problem, it was resolved promptly. I have been with them for 2 years, and will reommend them to anyone looking for quality, affordable hosting (overall impression 8.6/10) Startlogic is owned by the same management as dot5 hosting and ipowerweb. If you are in a dot5 vs Startlogic vs ipowerweb dilemma, the answer is they are all the same. They have similar infrastructure and different support teams and managed by the same people.
